Torn Asunder and Reunited

Come to the library at 6:30 on Friday, September 26th to celebrate the bicentennial of Lincoln's birth by attending the opening reception of the exhibits Torn Asunder and Reunited: The American Past and Lincoln. The Pennsylvania College Guard will be offering a living history encampment outside the library and the 11th Pennsylvania Volunteer Fife and Drum Corps will be performing authentic Civil War music and infantry drills on the library patio. Music of the corps is performed on reproduction rope tension drums and rosewood fifes of the Civil War period.

Free food and drink will be available after the performance. Rain location is on the main floor of the library.
The exhibits of Torn Asunder and Reunited include Lincoln portraits, historic letters, pamphlets, speeches, and other documents, a unique collection of nineteenth century surgical instruments, and a display of military weaponry and artifacts.

And don't miss the other events planned as part of the series. See the Torn Asunder webpage for more information.
