Tonight a group of students attended “Open Access and the Health Professions” – an Open Access Week event geared towards students in the Pre-Health Professions Club on campus. Students enjoyed open access cookies while learning the basics about the open access movement and why it is important to them.
Students then completed an exercise to apply what they had just learned and think critically about availability of information. Dr. Amy Dailey capped off the night by sharing her experiences publishing in open access journals.
Students in attendance at tonight’s event are not the only ones thinking about issues surrounding access to information. Check out this week’s Surge blog post on Open Access.
